Description
This is a picture of sunset from Clingmans Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains. Clingmans Dome is the third highest peak in the Appalachian Mountain Range at 6643 ft. This shot was taken the second of May in 2014 from the parking lot at an elevation of 6200 ft. Not only was the lighting good this evening but the atmosphere had a high amount of clarity allowing for a good clean image. This is something that doesn't happen all that often. If you look mid left frame you will see a bunch of white spots on the distant mountainside. These are blooming Dogwood trees. I was in the park 2 weeks prior when the Dogwoods were blooming in the valley. On this trip the valley Dogwoods were leafing out and the ones around 4000 ft were all freshly bloomed out as seen here. There was an amazing vibe in the mountains this evening that i wish everyone could have experienced. This image would look great hanging on your office wall or in your living room and would be a daily reminder of the beauty of Gods creations!
